Social media can change how teens see themselves through comparison. Carefully selected images can make ordinary life feel less impressive than other people's highlights. By social comparison, I mean judging yourself against the people you see online.
My example paper refers to a fictional classroom survey in which students described feeling worse about themselves after scrolling. This is invented demonstration material, not a real research finding. The example suggests a connection between comparison and self-image, but it does not establish that social media caused the feeling.
Other explanations matter too. Sleep, offline friendships, and the content someone chooses may all affect the experience. Some students use social media to find supportive communities. My claim should leave room for these differences rather than treating every student or every platform as the same.
To strengthen the argument, I would compare more than one source, check how each gathered its evidence, and explain which source best supports the particular claim I am making.
