FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about the free Assignment Control Center beta, account access, browser-local assignment content, structured feedback, Expert Help, and authorship boundaries.

Trust & legitimacy

What does Academic Wizard actually do?

Academic Wizard is an Assignment Control Center for AI-era student work. Its primary free-account product maps assignment requirements, explains the instructor's AI-use boundary, identifies draft and evidence gaps, shows closely related examples, and turns findings into clear next actions without writing the assignment for the student. Paper Audit and defined planning, editing, citation, formatting, revision, and study-support services remain optional Expert Help. The student remains the author.

Do I need an account for the free Assignment Control Center?

Yes. The beta is free, but a verified Academic Wizard account is required to use the complete workflow. The account captures your email for access and essential service notices. Optional academic tips and offers require a separate, unchecked-by-default choice.

Does my Assignment Control Center content get saved to my account?

No. In the current beta, assignment instructions, rubrics, AI-policy text, drafts, references, and teaching attempts stay in your browser and are not attached to your Academic Wizard account or sent to an external AI model. Your account identity and structured product feedback are stored separately.

Why does the free beta ask for feedback?

The three short completion questions are the exchange for free beta access and help Academic Wizard learn what is clear, useful, or missing. Feedback is required before readiness-record export, not before the guidance itself. The form accepts fixed ratings and categories only—never assignment text or personal information.

Is Academic Wizard a legitimate service?

Yes. Academic Wizard is operated by Academic Wizard LLC, a U.S.-registered company headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Payments run through Stripe, prices appear before payment, and every paid order has a defined scope, service-specific quality checks, and final human review.

How is my order quality checked?

The Academic Wizard Quality System checks the assignment and rubric, the purchased service contract, source and citation requirements where applicable, structure and writing quality, and the final deliverable. Every real customer order also requires reviewer identity, completion timestamp, and the completed final quality checklist to be recorded before delivery.

Is my personal and assignment information confidential?

We do not sell customer files or personal information. Data is shared only with authorized systems, people, and service providers needed to operate, review, support, secure, and measure the service, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

How do you verify citations and source details?

Citation work is checked against the selected style family, the source material you provide, and reliable scholarly metadata when available. We reconcile author-date, author-page, numbered, or footnote citations with the corrected source entries, flag unresolved metadata instead of guessing, and require final human review. You remain responsible for confirming sources and following your instructor or publication rules.

Do you store my card number?

No. Payments are processed securely through Stripe, and Academic Wizard never stores your card number. We retain only the payment and order metadata needed for fulfillment, accounting, support, and disputes.

Ordering & checkout

How does Academic Wizard checkout work?

Check My Submission starts Paper Audit — Submission Readiness Check. Checkout uses three clear steps: confirm the service and scope, enter the assignment details, then upload or paste the required materials, review the live total, and pay securely.

How do I place an order?

Open Start Academic Review and follow the three steps: select your service, scope, due date, citation style, and eligible add-ons; enter the assignment details; then upload your prompt, rubric, draft, sources, or files, review the live total, and pay securely.

What happens after I place an order?

You'll receive confirmation by email. The instructions and files you submitted before payment are checked against the selected service. If anything needs clarification, we contact you from support@academicwizard.com before proceeding.

When do I upload my assignment instructions?

Upload or paste your assignment instructions in Step 3 of Start Academic Review before payment. Your service, assignment details, files, deadline, options, live price, and secure payment stay together in the same guided flow.

What happens after I pay?

Once payment clears, your order is already connected to the instructions and files you submitted. You'll receive confirmation by email, and the order enters intake review before work begins.

Can I upload files?

Yes. During Start Academic Review, before payment, you can upload your prompt, rubric, draft, sources, notes, or other relevant files. Access is limited to the systems and people needed to provide and support the service.

What if I choose the wrong service?

Email support@academicwizard.com. If work has not started, we can help adjust the order or issue a refund where appropriate.

Do you handle nursing, MBA, law, and STEM work?

Academic Wizard accepts many nursing, business, MBA, psychology, public-health, humanities, and STEM assignments when the requested service and materials fit our quality controls. Highly specialized or incomplete briefs may require clarification or may be declined before work begins.

Can you follow a university, journal, or court-specific style guide?

Yes. Upload the current guide, template, rubric, or court rules with the editable document. Those supplied requirements override general defaults, and unusual footnote, heading, table, pagination, or authority rules are routed through exact visual review before delivery.

What is the difference between proofreading, academic editing, and developmental editing?

Proofreading focuses on final mechanics such as spelling, grammar, punctuation, and consistency. Academic Editing also improves clarity, concision, sentence flow, and citation consistency while preserving your meaning. Developmental Academic Editing addresses paragraph order, transitions, argument structure, and evidence feedback; it still works from your draft rather than replacing your authorship.

Delivery & turnaround

What are typical turnaround times?

Standard orders are delivered within 2-3 days. Priority Delivery is an optional +$49 add-on for eligible orders with an 8-hour window. Larger or complex orders require timeline confirmation so quality holds.

What citation styles do you support?

APA 7, MLA 9, Chicago Author-Date, Chicago Notes-Bibliography, Harvard, IEEE, AMA 11, Turabian 9, OSCOLA 5, Bluebook 22, and Vancouver/NLM. Pick the required style at checkout. Instructor, university, journal, or court-specific rules take precedence when you upload the governing guide.

Do you support engineering, medical, and legal citation systems?

Yes. IEEE is available for engineering and computing, AMA 11 and Vancouver/NLM for medicine and health sciences, OSCOLA 5 for UK and international legal work, and Bluebook 22 for U.S. legal work. Legal citations are checked as footnotes and authorities rather than being forced into an author-date structure; the exact document type and supplied course, journal, or court rules still control.

How are files delivered and handled?

You upload files securely during Start Academic Review before payment. Deliverables are available through the customer workflow and related email notices. We do not resell customer files, and access is limited to providing, reviewing, supporting, and securing the service.

Pricing

How is pricing calculated?

Pricing uses the selected service's published fixed-scope, per-page, or per-source base rate. Academic-level modifiers apply only to Essay Planning & Review, Research Planning & Editing, Literature Review Mapping & Editing, Annotated Bibliography Planning & Review, Case Analysis Review, Lab Report Review, and Study Material Development: High School uses the base rate, Undergraduate adds 15%, and Graduate/PhD adds 30%. Priority Delivery is a fixed $49 add-on only when the selected service and order size are eligible. Standard online checkout supports up to 100 pages or sources for per-unit services, and the exact total appears before payment.

What are the current service base prices?

Paper Audit is $39 for focused coverage up to five student-authored pages or $59 for full-paper coverage up to ten; one rubric is included and title/reference pages do not count toward the limit. Research Blueprint is a $99 fixed-scope service; Revision Check is a $49 fixed-scope service; Essay Planning & Review is $24/page; Research Planning & Editing is $28/page; Literature Review Mapping & Editing is $34/page; Annotated Bibliography Planning & Review is $16/source; Case Analysis Review is $28/page; Lab Report Review is $28/page; Academic Editing is $9/page; Developmental Academic Editing is $16/page; Citation & Source Audit is a $29 fixed-scope service for up to five sources; Document Formatting is $4/page; and Study Material Development is $18/page. Per-page services use 275 words per page.

Which order sizes qualify for Priority Delivery?

Priority Delivery is a fixed $49 add-on when eligible. Online limits are: Paper Audit 1 audit; Research Blueprint 1 blueprint; Revision Check 1 review; Essay Planning & Review 10 pages; Research Planning & Editing 8 pages; Literature Review Mapping & Editing 6 pages; Annotated Bibliography Planning & Review 12 sources; Case Analysis Review 8 pages; Lab Report Review 8 pages; Academic Editing 20 pages; Developmental Academic Editing 12 pages; Citation & Source Audit 1 audit; Document Formatting 30 pages; and Study Material Development 10 pages. Larger orders use Standard Delivery or require timeline review.

Are revisions billed separately?

Correction requests are included for seven days from the recorded delivery timestamp when the delivered work misses the original instructions or purchased scope. Added pages, new sources, changed topics, new requirements, and review of a student's later revised draft are separate scopes; the latter belongs in Revision Check.

Originality & AI

Does every order receive human review?

Every real customer order requires a recorded final human review before delivery. Academic Wizard does not resell customer files or reuse customer-specific deliverables. The human-review statement describes the required delivery gate, not the production method.

Do you guarantee a plagiarism-free score or that an AI detector will approve my work?

No honest service can guarantee a proprietary similarity score or prove authorship with an AI detector. We can review source use, quotation, paraphrase, citation matching, and text overlap against materials available to the service, but we do not promise to bypass Turnitin or any institutional system.

Policies & integrity

How long are uploaded assignment files kept?

Uploaded assignment files are deleted 90 days after delivery unless you request earlier deletion. Order records required for tax and dispute purposes are retained separately as described in the Privacy Policy.

What happens if delivery is late?

If delivery is late through our fault and the delay materially affects the order's usefulness, a partial refund may be available. The exact remedy depends on the facts and follows the Refund Policy; we do not hide this behind an unconditional guarantee.

How should I use the materials you deliver?

Use audits, blueprints, feedback, tracked edits, citation reports, formatting passes, and study materials to improve your own work. You remain responsible for authorship, source verification, final decisions, and compliance with your institution's rules.

What is your academic integrity stance?

We provide planning, review, editing, citation, formatting, and study support for student-authored work. We do not take exams, impersonate students, fabricate data or sources, or provide completed work intended to be submitted as the student's own.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds may be available if work has not started, or if the purchased service does not match the uploaded instructions. Approved refunds return to your original payment method via Stripe. Full terms are on our Refund Policy page.
