Assignment Control Center browser-local content
In the current free-account beta, assignment instructions, rubrics, AI-policy text, drafts, and reference lists entered into the Assignment Control Center are processed in your web browser. That content is not uploaded to Academic Wizard servers, sent to an external AI provider, or attached to your account by this tool. Account access and feedback records are stored separately from this content. If you choose browser autosave, the content is stored only in that browser using local storage until you reset it or clear the browser’s site data. Downloaded readiness records remain on your device unless you choose to share them.
Standard page analytics may record that the tool was opened or a workflow stage was used, but our analytics events must not include assignment text, draft text, source text, instructor-policy text, or other student content.
What we collect
- Contact details: name, email, phone (if provided).
- Free beta account data: verified email, authentication identifiers, agreement records, and optional email preference.
- Assignment Control Center feedback: helpfulness rating, most valuable stage, return intent, academic level, and finding count. The form accepts no free-text response, assignment content, school details, instructor information, or other personal data.
- Order details: assignment instructions, files you upload, deadlines.
- Free tool opt-ins: email address, selected tool, saved result summary, due date when you request reminders, consent text, and tool-interest tags.
- Payment metadata via Stripe (we never store card numbers).
- Site analytics such as page views, referrers, approximate location, device/browser details, and interaction events through Plausible and Google Analytics. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers when analytics consent is accepted.
How we use it
- To deliver and revise your order.
- To process payments and send receipts.
- To respond to support requests.
- To improve the website.
- To control free beta access and evaluate product clarity, usefulness, and return intent.
- To send saved free-tool results, deadline reminders, related academic support follow-ups, and consent-based audience segments for future retargeting.
Sharing
Customer files are never sold or shared for unrelated purposes. Access is limited to authorized personnel and service providers required to securely operate, review, support, and deliver the service. Those providers include Stripe (payments), Lovable Cloud / Supabase (database and file storage), Resend (transactional email), and Plausible and Google Analytics (site measurement). We do not sell personal information. When audience files are prepared for consent-based retargeting, emails are normalized and hashed before export.
Retention
Order records are retained for 7 years for tax and dispute purposes. Uploaded assignment files are deleted 90 days after delivery unless you request earlier deletion. Account and free-beta feedback records are retained while the account or beta program remains active, or until a valid deletion request, except where security, fraud-prevention, legal, or recordkeeping obligations require longer retention.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data by emailing support@academicwizard.com. We respond within 30 days.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored using access-controlled systems. Payments are processed by PCI-DSS-compliant Stripe. Access to customer data is restricted to authorized personnel, systems, and service providers needed to securely operate, review, support, and deliver the service.
